Unlike its grocery store cousin this Wisconsin string cheese is made the old fashioned way. First it's kneaded like salt water taffy, extruded into rope and then most importantly soaked in brine (salt water) to dry it and give it a salty taste. The Wisconsin string cheese is then soaked in a spicy Carolina Reaper Pepper sauce, adding tons of flavor and heat to the string cheese. Get eight ounces of Wisconsin Reaper String Cheese per package. The Reaper String Cheese is made by Cesar's Cheese in Columbus, Wisconsin. This is a popular snack cheese. Like many semi-soft cheeses, it can be kept refrigerated for up to two weeks.
