Cheddar Apple Smoked
This Wisconsin white Cheddar is apple smoked and then hand rubbed with paprika. The paprika gives this cheese a sweet and smokey flavor. This young Cheddar has a dense but semi-soft texture. This Wisconsin Cheddar, produced by Carr Valley Cheese Co. in Mauston, Wisconsin, has won over 4 awards, including 1st Place at the 2005 American Cheese Society in its category, 3rd Place at the 2006 World Cheese Competition, and 3rd Place at the 2006 American Cheese Society Competition.

My only issue with this cheese was the red stuff on the outside. I don't know if it is paprika or what but after I cut it off the rest of the cheese was fantastic. I used it melted on eggs, sliced it for snacking and sandwiches. The smoky apple with the cheddar was a great combination.
