Oaxaca is a Mexican semi-soft, white, string-type cheese made from cow’s milk.  Similar to Mozzarella, Oaxaca is a stretched curd cheese, kneaded and can be found sold in long ropes gently wound into balls.  Oaxacan has a mellow, buttery flavor and melts beautifully.  This Manchego Oaxacan, also known as Lonely Oaxacan, is pressed and hand-rubbed with a combination of oregano, cloves, cumin, and garlic for a burst of flavor.  Made exclusively for Wisconsin Cheese Mart!
