Hi Temp Juicy Lucy Cheeseburgers

Juicy Lucy Cheeseburgers originated in Minnesota, our neighbors to the west.  While originally made with American cheese, Hi Temp Cheese take Juicy Lucy's to the next level!  Hi Temp Cheeses are specially produced with a higher melting point, helping them keep their shape during cooking.  When stuffed inside two burger patties, this creates the same delicious, cheese-filled burger of a Juicy Lucy, however, the cheese becomes soft and melty inside the burger without liquefying.

  • 1 lb ground beef (also great with turkey or impossible burger)
  • 3/4 cup Hi Temp Cheese (3-4 ounces)
  • Salt and coarsely ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 3-4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 burger buns
  • Optional toppings (arugula or your favorite lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion)

 1. Mix seasonings into beef

2. Divide beef into six portions and pat out into thin patties.
3. Place 1/4 cup hi-temp cheese on top of three patties.  Top with remaining patties and pinch edges to seal cheese inside
4. Grill to desired doneness or 165F in center.  Do not press down on patties while cooking!
5. Serve on toasted buns with your choice of toppings.
