From its modest origins as a small cheese shop, it has blossomed into a leading retailer, carrying over 200 varieties of Wisconsin's finest cheeses and delivering them to cheese enthusiasts across all 50 states.

Wisconsin, the "Dairy State," is renowned for its exceptional cheese production, boasting over 3 billion pounds of cheese produced annually. This dairy powerhouse is home to approximately 6000 dairy farms, many of them small, family-owned operations that have passed down their cheese-making traditions through generations.

In addition to its vibrant dairy farms, Wisconsin is also home to an impressive array of 470 dairy plants. While some of these plants are large-scale producers responsible for the mass-produced cheese brands found on grocery store shelves, The Wisconsin Cheese Mart chooses to support smaller, family-owned, artisanal creameries. These smaller creameries often produce cheese in much smaller quantities and lack the capacity to sell to large grocery stores or have the resources to sell online.
