In 2025, Klondike Cheese Company proudly celebrates its 100th anniversary, a century of unwavering dedication to cheesemaking excellence.

Founded in 1925 by Swiss immigrants Ernest and Marie Buholzer, this fourth-generation family-owned company began as a small Wisconsin plant focused on Swiss cheese. While Swiss cheese production ceased in January 1970, Klondike has continually evolved, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative methods to create an extensive range of award-winning specialty cheeses and dairy products.

Still located on its original Green County site, Klondike boasts an impressive five Wisconsin Master Cheesemakers—a testament to their deep expertise and commitment to the craft.
