Baked Ham and Smoked Gouda Sliders

Try these Baked Ham and Smoked Gouda Sliders for an easy, melty, delicious dish featuring your ham, smoked gouda, and a buttery Dijon sauce!
Ingredients
  • 12 small dinner rolls (or Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 cup apricot preserves (or your favorite fruit jam)
  • 6oz sliced ham - sliced thinly (great for digging those Easter leftovers out of the freezer, or use 12 slices of thinly sliced deli ham)
  • 12 ounces Smoked Gouda cheese, shredded (3 cups)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.75 ounce Parmesan cheese, finely shredded (1/4 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Slice rolls in half horizontally; remove tops.  Place roll bottoms in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan; spread with preserves.  Layer each with ham and gouda.  Replace roll tops.
3. Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl; stir in the minced onion, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper.  Brush mixture over roll tops.  Sprinkle with parmesan and red pepper flakes if desired.
4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until cheeses are melted.

Tips

- Make ahead!  The sliders can be prepared a day in advance.  Build sliders following step two, cover, and refrigerate overnight.  Remove from the fridge 40 minutes before baking, and follow recipe as directed, starting with melting butter.

- Try with your favorite cheese!  We love these with an aged cheddarColby, or brick cheese!
