As gouda cheese ages, it develops milk crystallization deposits. This Marieke Gouda is creamy and extremely flavorful, a wonderful example of an aged Gouda. This version of Marieke Gouda cheese is aged two years, and has a slightly sweet, nutty flavor that becomes more complex as it ages on wooden shelves. With undertones of spice, coffee, caramel, and roasted nuts, this farmstead Gouda is anything but plain.  Produced by Marieke Gouda in Thorp, WI. Rolf and Marieke Penterman emigrated from the Netherlands in 2002 to pursue their passion for dairy farming.
