The caramelized goat whey gives this cheese a sweet and savory taste that's truly one of a kind. In Norwegian GjetOst simple means goat (Gjet) cheese (Ost). The real name of this cheese is GudbrandsdalsOst.

Fantastic Gjetost

I had tasted this cheese on a sampler tray and it was so fantastic I had to buy some. The texture is melt-in-your-mouth smooth, but unlike cream cheese it is not slippery and super sweet. It is WONDERFUL on either a Triscuit or water biscuit

This was the first time trying Gjetost , it tasted like caramel. really good !!

I can't eat much of this because of the rich sweetness but a little is all I need. It has sweet caramel overtones with a hint of cheddar, very dense.
